Federal Sales Manager

As we continue to expand, this pivotal role will be crucial in supporting our business development efforts across both the public and private sectors. The federal sales manager will collaborate closely with our leadership team to drive further growth, expanding our market reach by leveraging their network and relationships to introduce our innovative services to new clients.

In this role, you'll work hand-in-hand with our executive team to identify new business opportunities, build strategic partnerships, and develop lasting relationships with key stakeholders. The ideal candidate will swiftly grasp specific customer needs, bolster our competitive edge alongside our partners, effectively communicate our capabilities to key clients, and stay informed on market trends.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in developing and nurturing relationships with government agencies and key program, technical, and contract leaders, fostering future partnerships and growth opportunities.
  • Expertise in managing complex federal contracts and programs, including building and maintaining client relationships, overseeing contract deliverables, coordinating subcontractors and dispersed teams, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions.
  • Holds a Top-Secret Security Clearance.
  • At least 10 years of experience in program and/or portfolio management across public and/or private sectors, with a strong track record of delivering solutions to the federal government.
  • Demonstrated history of boosting sales and profitability within organizations of varying sizes, with experience in securing contract vehicles and executing tasks of different scales. Strategic planning experience is also preferred.
  • A bachelor’s degree in marketing, business management, or a related technical discipline, along with any relevant certifications.
  • Experience in federal contract portfolio management, securing and managing contract vehicles, and executing tasks of varying sizes.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Government marketplace, with the ability to identify, qualify, and close both strategic accounts and tactical opportunities through established relationships within the federal contracting space.
  • Capability of understanding and effectively communicating the advantages and disadvantages of Information Technology Services.
  • Proven experience in selling complex services and solutions at senior levels within Fortune 500 companies and/or the Federal Government.
  • Strong influencing skills to collaborate with partners and operations teams to provide the best resources and solutions for the client.
  • Ability to make decisions independently, such as prioritizing relationships to cultivate, negotiating with clients (both external and internal), and overcoming obstacles with minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility to respond to clients' needs and work extended hours when necessary.
  • At least 3 years of technical experience and/or experience in marketing/business development and sales of professional services within the government contracting industry.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and Secure Opportunities: Tasked with discovering and securing new federal prime and subcontract opportunities that align with both short-term and long-term goals set by the executive leadership team.
  • Collaborate with Leadership: Partner closely with the President of Federal Services to meet quarterly targets that support growth objectives, while also assisting the CEO and COO in developing and executing the long-term revenue strategy for the federal government sector.
  • Business Acquisition Expertise: Must possess a strong understanding of the business acquisition process and its applications within IT services, alongside established relationships within the local federal markets.
  • Government Marketplace Knowledge: Should have deep knowledge of the government marketplace, capable of identifying, qualifying, and closing both strategic accounts and tactical opportunities through existing relationships.
  • IT Services Management: Extensive experience in managing departments and accounts within the Information Technology Services sector is required.
  • Business Development Support: Provide business development support and oversee contract execution for specific accounts and opportunities within the Federal Sector, as well as other markets when necessary.
  • Competitive Positioning: Responsible for supporting our competitive stance, effectively communicating our capabilities to key customers, and serving as an expert on engineering capabilities, IT services, and federal agency/domain IT services market trends.
  • Location and Travel: The position is based in our Ashburn, VA office but requires meeting with partners and clients outside our facilities as needed.
  • Proven Relationship Builder: Successful candidates will have a demonstrated history of building strong relationships with key customers and closing new business deals that involve delivering solutions to Federal clients.
  • Strategic Planning and Capture: Involved in strategic planning, business capture, and proposal management and support.
  • Pipeline Development and Compliance: Responsible for ensuring high-quality account coverage and compliance with company metrics and Obscurity Labs' business development processes to maximize wins and achieve revenue goals.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $200,000.00 - $330,000.00 per year
